Aika kulkee. Apocalyptica on selloillut jo yhdeksän vuotta ja saavuttanut suuremman suosion kuin osattiin veikata. Varhaisvuosien Metallica-versiot ovat mennyttä elämää ja trio tulee nykyään toimeen omillaan.

Viidennellä albumillaan Apocalyptica kuulostaa tuoreemmalta ja soi monipuolisemmin kuin koskaan. Bändi rokkaa entistä rohkeammin ja aiempia levyjä vaivannut yliyrittäminen on poissa. Reflections-levyn tavoin ovat rummut (Mikko Siren) vahvasti mukana, mutta nyt vieläkin paremmin synkassa Toppisen, Kivilaakson ja Lötjösen sellojen kanssa. Betrayal/Forgiveness -kappaleessa kannuja pieksää legendaarinen Slayer-patteristi Dave Lombardo.

Levy starttaa vauhdikkaasti Life Burnsin myötä. Vokaaleissa Lauri Ylönen pistää parastaan ja kuulostaakin hemmetin hyvältä. Biisi potkii kuin turboahdettu The Rasmus. Bittersweetissä Villen ja Laurin erilaiset äänet soivat hyvin yhteen, Valon ääni tosin paremmin kappaleen luonteeseen. Jos on aloitus hyvä, niin komeaa kuultavaa ovat myös levyn päättävät instumentaalit Ruska ja Deathzone. Tämähän on taidetta!
The album starts briskly with Life Burns. The vocal by Lauri Ylönen sticks the best and sounds damn good. The song kicks like The Rasmus. The bittersweet different voices of Ville and Lauri fit together well. Valo's sound really fits well with the album's character. If the beginning is good, the album's ending instruments Ruska and Deathzone sound good too. This is art!

Vaikka suvantojakin on, niin pahimmat suonsilmäkkeet onnistutaan kiertämään. Välillä soudetaan peilityynellä järvellä, välillä harrastetaan koskenlaskua. Yksittäisiä biisejä on vaikea poimia yhdentoista biisin joukosta, sillä ne muodostavat kuuloelimiä miellyttävän kokonaisuuden, joka on sopivina annoksina oiva lääke kaamosmasennukseen.
Though it is smooth water, worse swamp holes … Individual songs are difficult to pick out from 11 of them, because they form as a whole that pleases organ of hearing and it is good medicine of suitable dose for darkness of depression.
