Taktikko, mahtavin sotilas, jumalainen strategi jne jne. Muistammeko Aleksanterin vain suurena sotapäälikkönä joka valloitti alle kymmenessä vuodessa aikansa tunnetun maailman? Kyllä vain, sehän oli hänen pyrkimyksensä. Mutta jos on oikeasti kyseisestä henkilöstä kiinostunut, niin kirjallisuutta kyllä löytyy jonka kautta kannattaa ottaa selvää. Tosiasia on, että hänellä oli elämä myös taistelukenttien ulkopuolella.

Onneksi Stone teki tämän elokuvan, eikä joku Bruckheimer millään jokapojan mahtipontifiilistely tuotannollaan! Jos haluaa katsoa mättöä kaksi tuntia, niin voi mennä vuokraamaan edellä mainitun tuottajan filmejä. Sitäpaitsi en ymmärrä miksi taistelua pitäisi painottaa enemmän tälläisissä muinaisen maailman legendoissa, kun henkilödraama on se joka määrittää ihmisen luonteen. Taistelut on tulkittu kirjallisuudesta ja tarinoista niinkuin henkilödraamakin, mutta mitä tarina antaa katsojalle taistelujen aikana? Muuta kun tiedon: ”Niin, siellä ne ottivat yhteen. ..Meniköhän tuolla pää poikki noin?? Vau.” Olen tyytyväinen että Aleksanterin taisteluista näytettiin ne merkittävimmät, eikä yritettykkään tuoda edes puolia niistä kaikista valkokankaalle. Se olisi yksinkertaisesti liikaa. Elokuvassa näytettiin Gaugamelan taistelu, jossa Aleksanteri marssitti 40 000 ammattisotilastaan 250 000 barbaaria ja Persian kuningasta vastaan. Ja näytettiin Aleksanterin viimeinen taistelu Intiassa, jossa hän loukkaantui vakavasti. Muunosan elokuva näyttää tilanteita jotka kertoo minkälainen ihminen Aleksanteri oli Stonen näkökulmasta. Itse olen perehtynyt Aleksanterin tarinoihin laihanlaisesti, mutta silti elokuvassa on hienoja kohtauksia joita voin tunnistaa muidenkin kertomuksista, niinkuin villihevosen kesyttäminen nuorena poikana, johon isä Phillip ei pystynyt. Myös Aleksanterin rakkaus hänen lapsuuden ystävään Hefaistioniin tuotiin tarpeeksi hyvin esille, ilman että Stonen olisi tarvinnut kuvata miesten välistä rakastelua. Muinaisessa Kreikassa kun tämä oli varsin yleistä ja suvaittua, niin kauan kun perillisä myös saadaan.

Luckily Stone did this movie, not some Bruckheimer with some production of every boy’s arrogant …! If one wants to watch crap for two hours, yes you can go rent the films by the previously mentioned producer. Besides I don’t understand why fighting would need to be emphasized more in this kind of ancient world’s legends, while personal drama is the one that defines the person’s nature. Fighting has been interpreted from the literature, so has personal drama from the stories. But during the fighting, what story is given to the audience? Other than I know: “yes, there they took contact… Did the head get cut off there like that?” “Wow.” I am satisfied that in Alexander was shown these more important fighting, not trying to produce half of all these ... That would be simply too much. In the movie, Gaugamela fight was shown, where Alexander marched 40000 professional soldiers against 250000 barbarians and Persian king. So is the last fight of Alexander in India, where he was injured seriously. Other parts of the movie show the situations that tell what kind of person Alexander was in the eye of Stone. I am myself slimly familar with Alexander’s stories, but still in the movie there are great scenes that I recognize other narratives, such as taming the wild horse, as a young boy, which father Phillip did not keep. Also Alexander’s love towards his childhood friend Hefaistioni was brought up well enough, without the need from Stone to film lovemaking between men. In ancient Greece this was completely common and tolerated, so far … also we get.

Stone on mielestäni ottanut aivan oikean suunnaan elokuvan keston ja aiheen suhteen: ......

Roolisuoritukset ovat kaikinpuolin mielestäni onnistuneita ja Jolie tekee kunniaa kuningatar Olympiakselle kyvyillä, joita hän ei ole ennen tuonnut juurikaan esille. Farrel on varsin oiva valinta Aleksanterin osaan. Musiikki on hienoa ja Vangeliksen omistautuminen myös kuuluu, saihan hän säveltää musiikin oman maansa muinaishistorialliseen teokseen. Kuvallinen kerronta on väririkasta ja kaunista katseltavaa, eikä Stonen tyyli ole kadonnut nopeita zoomeja katsoessa, erikoisia ilmeitä nähtäessä ja viimeisen taistelun värimaailmaa ihailtaessa.

I totally think that the perfermance of all roles are successful and Jolie plays the queen Olympias with such skills that she has not produced before. Farrel is a quite clever choice for the part of Alexander. Soundtrack is great and Vangelis’s devotion also … Cinemagraphic narration is rich of colour and beautiful to watch; Stone’s style did not get lost in the fast zoom and closeup, when watching the special … and admiring the colorful world of the last fighting scene.

Minusta on ollut huvittavaa lukea kuinka ihmiset mollaavat elokuvaa nyt, kun saivat tietää ja nähdä minkälainen mies Aleksanteri todella oli. Tämä suuri sotapäälikkö, joka rakastikin miestä. Voi kauheaa, mitä nyt ajatella?! Ei ainakaa hyvää tästä leffasta, hyi v...u mitä homoilua! Surkuhupaisaa luettavaa kun miehet ja pojat kiroilevat heidän SUUREN VALLOITTAJANSA olevan erilainen. Noh, joillakin ihmisillä suvaitsevaisuus ei vain tule kuulonkaan ja minkäs sille tekee. Tuollainen käytös kertoo vain jotain heidän omista peloistaan ja epäluuloistaan enemmän kuin muiden. Aleksanteri Suuren ajatus oli vapauttaa maailma ja hän vastasi itse teoistaan. Jos aihe ei kiinosta, niin älkää hyvät ihmiset maksako kalliita elokuvalippuja, vain siksi että mainoksissa vilauteltiin taisteluita.

I think it has been amusing to read how people ... now, when they get the information and see what kind of man Alexander really was. This great war chief, who loved a man. How terrible, what to think now?! This movie is not good, … … Well, some people’s kindness does not just come out and … That kind of behavior only tells something about their own fear and distrust more than others. Alexander the Great’s call was a free world and he answered it in his own action. If the subject is not interesting, then good people don’t pay for expensive movie tickets, just … fighting … in advertisements.
