[Movie]House of flying daggers

I went for this movie (Feb. 12, 8:15PM). I am a bit disappointed that it’s shown in a small theatre. As it is said in the review, the highlight of this movie is colours and moves. That’s better be in a big room with a big screen.

It’s a full house, though, only a couple of seats left in the front. My seat was not good. It is the 4th row and at the inner corner. Who else to blame? The reservation system only works when the ticket is picked up 1 hour before the show. I was late. The reserved seats were gone. Pissed. Lesson learned.

Well, as said, colours and moves. Great presentation. Great entertainment. But as an artist, Mr. Zhang Yimou, please, come up something new, something unexpected. No wonder you don’t even get nominated now for Oscars with this kind of stuff. What happened to great great great movie such as Road home?

I love the costumes in the movie. Both men’s and women’s cloth. In China, some people are arguing about which costume should be the national costume for Han Chinese, the majority of population, the only nationality that lost its own outfit. I think these costumes can be the one. There you go.

The story is simple enough. Stars are good, easy to shed tears. Best to remember, it is not history, not reality, just FANTASY.
